In 2008 there were very few restaurants serving great quality food and in a cool environment on the high street.
Jamie Oliver wanted to launch a restaurant that served the cuisine he loved the most, Italian, and an experience that was unique in the UK.
A restaurant brand based on the personality and values of the man himself, warm, colourful, informal with a passion for authentic Italian food, and obsessed with provenance.
It revolutionised food on the high street, bringing beautifully cooked dishes made from well sourced produce to a public who had never seen anything like it before.
We worked with Jamie's Italian for almost 10 years, originating the brand and all of it's elements; menus, uniforms, signage and digitial presence and then taking the business in to new pastures with new food products and all of the design and packaging.
It's been a real labour of love for us!
The Jamie's Italian brand covered a lot of ground, generating kerb appeal on the street with beautiful shopfronts and signage, to the staff's uniforms aimed at raising a smile. The brand graced merchandise and deli food, building a complete and considered experience.
We've created a bespoke signage and shopfront package for each and every Jamie's Italian, both here in the UK and internationally.
All of them respond to the building and the environment, sympathetic to both, building links to the local community.
Our very first Jamie's in Oxford has signage made of copper, like all the academic roofs in the city. It's still gently corroding away, turning greener, year by year.
We created a new Italian Deli product range for Jamie's Italian. Showcasing the products that they use within the restaurant, the design drew their inspiration from classic Italian deli products.
Each of the products is designed with a unique style, giving the entire range an eclectic feel, like you've just walked into your local deli.
As well as designing all the products we created some tote bags using some of our favourite designs.
